Spay/Neuter:

The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria offers spay and neuter surgery at a considerable reduction in cost. Depending on the size and sex of the animal, and the veterinarian you choose, spay or neuter surgery is generally $50 - $150. Reduced-cost spay/neuter is available to everyone, regardless of where you live. There is no limit to the number of certificates you can buy, and there are no income restrictions.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington offers a low-cost program for people with a household income below $40,000. The prices range from $75-$122 for cats, $120-155 for dogs (depending on weight and sex). If you can't afford the reduced fees, the League has another program for which you may qualify. Neuter Commuter (Prince William County, VA)- www.pwspca.org/index.htm
Each month, the Neuter Commute travels to the county to pick up 20-30 animals and transport them to and from the Washington Humane Society’s Spay/Neuter Clinic. Cost is $50 for cats and $100 for dogs. Everyone qualifies.

Spay, Inc (Northern VA)- www.spay.org
Spay, Inc., a program of the SPCA of Northern Virginia, provides low-cost spay/neuter referrals for dogs and cats in Northern Virginia. They will provide you with a Control Number so you can schedule a low-cost spay/neuter at one of their participating animal hospitals or clinics. Everyone qualifies to participate in the Spay, Inc. low-cost referral program - there are no income or residency requirements.

The Washington Animal Rescue League provides free spay and neuter services to income-qualifying individuals in the Washington, D.C. area. Monthly free feral cat spay/neuter days and a free community pit bull sterilization program are among the shelter’s key programs addressing two of the most serious animal overpopulation problems in any urban environment.

The Washington Humane Society National Capital Area Spay & Neuter Center provides low-cost sterilization surgery to cats and dogs 5 days a week. By appointment only.
